
The New York Times has seen subscription revenue soar from 2016 to 2021, with digital making up a little over half of overall revenue.
In June 2022, the Times announced its plans to reach 15 million subscribers by the end of 2027, after surpassing 10 million subscribers a few months earlier in February.
Recent acquisitions include The Athletic, a digital sports publisher, for $550 million and Wordle, the trivia game, for an estimated $1 million.
